Rear Upright Support Repair

There is a vertical support bar that runs up the seam where the side panel meets the corner. At this point, there are lots of things going on: The vertical bar joins the top of the inner wheel arch tub, and there is a small retaining bracket at the foot, there are side reinforcing pieces running from the 'C' post backwards to the vertical bar. There was some rust at the bottom of the vertical bar which we cut out and repaired:

The photo below shows the new piece we made. Notice the indent on the vertical part on the RHS edge - this is were one of the horizontal support bars locates in place.


On the inside (visible from the engine bay) is the bottom of the vertical support bar with the small 'foot' just placed into position.

You can see more clearly here the recess for the horizontal support bar. This is just above the very top of the inner rear wheel arch tub.
